Friday, August 28, we welcomed students back to school despite COVID craziness. It’s incredible how one little virus has turned everything upside down, forcing flexibility and adaption. Routines have been scrapped. Traditions? Modified.
Normally, a new school year launches with some sort of special activity, generally an outing where students can spend time together and with their new teachers. This year, instead of an outing for our high school students, our special activity took place right in our own backyard: the Côtes-à-Côtes (aka pork ribs!) Food Truck served lunch to our high schoolers.
Our back-to-school theme is, appropriately, “Quiet Confidence,” from Isaiah 30:15, which says, “In calmness and confidence will your strength be.” May God keep us from getting angry when adversity hits. May we find in him quiet confidence to face the upcoming school year.
